"Are You Hearing Me?" is the first feature documentary of Santa Barbara filmmaker Diane Mackenzie. This film is our answer to the trauma that we, and other womxn, have experienced at the hands of SCOTUS. We celebrate the stories of female artists who have transcended sexual and physical trauma and how we empower ourselves and our communities with our artistic practices. It is anchored on Diane Mackenzie’s own story of taking back her life after rape and assault in 2010.
The Making of Are You Hearing Me?
Are You Hearing Me? is the feature documentary debut of filmmaker and activist Diane C Mackenzie. The film gives a voice and platform to female artists who have experienced sexual and/or physical trauma.
Our website celebrates and honors the lives, art, and words of survivors and their allies .
We acknowledge and honor other movements that intersect with our messages such as Black Lives Matter and the Me Too movement and are in support of these movements, causes, and their impact.
