A feature documentary celebrating the stories of female artists who have experienced sexual and physical trauma and how we empower ourselves and our communities with our art. It is anchored on Diane Mackenzie’s own story of taking back her life after a rape and assault in 2010.

This website serves as a safe space for female artists and others who have experienced sexual/and or physical trauma and our allies.

You will meet our artists and crew.

Survivors and allies alike can seek out information and educational materials. You are also invited to share your own stories and artwork with us to be incorporated into the site.

The Making of Are You Hearing Me?

Are You Hearing Me? is the feature documentary debut of filmmaker and activist Diane C Mackenzie. The film gives a voice and platform to female artists who have experienced sexual and/or physical assault.

Our website celebrates and honors the lives, art and words of survivors and their allies by creating a safe space for us all.

We invite you to share your art and your words with us in this space. We will also provide information and resources for those who strive to learn more. We acknowledge and honor other movements that intersect with our messages such as Black Lives Matter and the Me Too movement and are in support of these movements, causes, and their impact.
